Everyone loves a show that can take them to a place far, far away, and HBO’s The White Lotus has done that for two seasons so far. What is ‘The White Lotus’ season 3 about?
At this point in time, not much is known about the plot of season 3 of The White Lotus other than the fact that it will take us to a luxurious Thailand resort. In a clip featured at the end of the seventh episode of season 2, show creator Mike White gave a glimpse into potential plans for the third season.
“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex,” White said in the clip as reported by Variety. “I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”
Who is starring in ‘The White Lotus’ season 3?
Seasons 1 and 2 of the series were lined with a star-studded cast. In the debut installment, we saw famous faces like Connie Britton, Sydney Sweeney, Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario and countless others bring the gripping story to life. In season 2, Jennifer Coolidge, Meghann Fahy, Michael Imperioli, Aubrey Plaza and many more told the story we loved.
This season, countless familiar faces will take the lead, and though not much is known yet about their characters, we’re still excited to see them shine. Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon and Michelle Monaghan will star as three long-time friends embarking on a girls’ trip. Walton Goggins is bringing to life the character of Rick, a man traveling with his young girlfriend played by Aimee Lou Wood. Also joining the cast are Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey, a married couple enjoying a vacation with their three children played by Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola and Patrick Schwarzenegger. Natasha Rothwell will join the cast as a spa manager from Hawaii’s White Lotus Hotel, and additional hotel staff members will be played by Lalisa Manobal, Lek Patravadi and Tayme Thapthimthong.
Natasha Rothwell’s return to the third season came as a surprise due to the fact that she had a role in the first season. “She’s still working at the White Lotus, and she’s in Thailand doing sort of an exchange program to learn more about the wellness programs that the Thailand White Lotus offers,” Rothwell told Entertainment Weekly. “She’s going to be a guest for the first time, even though she’s taking classes and it’s a work trip. She’s staying at the hotel, which is something that she hasn’t done before, and so we get to see her really dip her toe in the other side of life of the upstairs/downstairs of White Lotus.”
