Lara Spencer is always busy co-hosting Good Morning America, but the 55-year-old just shared that she’s taken some time to rest and recoup—before getting back at the grind.
Last week, Lara revealed on Instagram that she recently had surgery and is recovering. But the New York native has continued to do her job while she’s on the mend. So what happened to Lara—and why is she in a boot? Here’s what she shared.
What happened to Lara Spencer on ‘Good Morning America’?
Lara recently underwent two surgeries on her feet.
“If I look a little groggy it’s thanks to this guy who just gave me a new pair of boots,” she captioned her post. “My right foot was easy—just had [a] plate removed from surgery last year. The left is a bigger deal from a very old college diving injury. I was doing a reverse one and a half and hit the board, shattering toes and joints.”
Back when Lara first hurt herself, “they said there was nothing you could do except tape it, let it heal, and live with the pain,” she wrote. “Today there are much better options, thanks to surgeons like Dr. Marty O’Malley at HSS. These boots were made for walkin…”
In another post, Lara shared a photo of her foot propped up on a pillow while her dog snoozed on her lap.
Why is Lara Spencer in a boot?
Both of Lara’s feet are in a boot right now thanks to her surgeries. Just a few days later, Lara jokingly captioned a photo of herself with the words, “Boot season.”
How is Lara Spencer doing now?
Lara seems to be doing okay. While she took a few days off from work, she’s since been back in the studio and is even on her feet.
She’s also been using a glittery cane to help her get around.
Feel better, Lara!
