The cast of The Office gave us unforgettable on-screen relationships (looking at you Pam and Jim!), but the real-life friendships they’ve maintained since the show ended are just as heartwarming. From co-writing books to supporting one another’s career milestones, here’s how the Dunder Mifflin crew keeps their bonds alive.
Angela Kinsey and Jenna Fischer: foes on screen; besties off screen

Angela Kinsey’s ice-cold character of Angela was the foil to Jenna Fischer’s soft-spoken Pam, but despite their on-screen tension, the two ladies remain tight as can be. Not only do they co-host the Office rewatch podcast Office Ladies together, but they’ve also put out a book together, The Office BFFs: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There.
The two first bonded back when they had to do two days’ worth of background work in season one of the hit sitcom. “They positioned us on a bench next to each other, and we just had time to fill,” Fischer told Shondaland. “We didn’t have any lines, but we had to sit there all day. So, when they were rehearsing the elaborate basketball choreography, we chatted. And we just told each other our life stories. If I had been positioned somewhere else in the warehouse, who knows? But I think that’s the moment—I know that’s the moment we became best friends.”
Fischer also recently came out about her battle with breast cancer, and the actress gave credit to Kinsey for her endless support throughout the journey. We love these two!
B.J. Novak and Mindy Kaling: on-screen chaos, off-screen friendship

The on-screen chemistry between Mindy Kaling’s Kelly and B.J. Novak’s Ryan was hilarious and electric, and off-screen, the duo has remained extremely close over the years. While they were romantically involved with one another throughout the early 2000s before calling it quits, they remained close friends—with Novak even being the godfather to her two children.
In a Reddit AMA, when asked who he was closest with on the set of The Office, he wrote, “I was closest with Mindy Kaling, and also least close with Mindy Kaling, on a minute-by-minute basis. And I wouldn’t trade it for the word. Actually, I would trade it for the world. What am I talking about: I’d trade it for a more consistently positive relationship with Mindy Kaling. She’s the best.”
John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer: a friendship fans adore

Krasinski and Fischer brought to life one of the most beloved on-screen couples (Jim and Pam), and off-screen, the two have continued to maintain a strong friendship, often supporting each other’s career endeavors. Krasinski’s wife, Emily Blunt, has even poked fun at the love fans have for their relationship on the Variety Awards Circuit Podcast. “Whenever I walk beside him, people still shout out, ‘I wish you were with Pam,’” she said. “They ask, ‘Where’s Pam?’ and I’m like, ‘She’s not here.’ We adore Jenna; she’s one of our closest friends.”
As for Fischer’s view on their work relationship, “For me, chemistry is when you have to work the least to be most authentic as your character,” she told The Off Camera Show. “So, when I met John and I worked with John, I didn’t have to try at all.”
More heartwarming bonds among ‘The Office’ cast
As a whole, the cast of The Office has all remained tight over the years, and countless other cast members have reunited to show fans that the love and support for one another’s careers is still going strong.
From Leslie David Baker (Stanle)y showing up to support Kate Flannery (Meredith) while she competed on Dancing With the Stars to Rainn Wilson (Dwight) and Oscar Nunez (Oscar) catching a bite to eat with one another, we love knowing that the bonds amongst this cast remain unbreakable!
