Why These Are Our Picks

Sure, Nike shoes aren’t cheap, even at discounted Black Friday prices. But picking up the most inexpensive sneaks you can find online could be setting yourself up for foot issues down the road. “Most of the time with shoes, you get what you pay for,” says Richard H. Graves, DPM, a board-certified podiatrist at Sol Food & Ankle Centers. “If you try to go cheap, then the shoes are not going to treat your feet very well.” Some of the prices for these on-sale shoes may be higher than a random brand you’ll find on Amazon, but this is Nike we’re talking about—you know you’re getting a supportive, comfortable shoe when you invest in these.

Women’s Health editors tested all of the shoes recommended above, considering factors like durability, comfort, and style. Nike delivers across the board thanks to the brand’s impressive cushioning technology and comfortable fit.

The Pegasus 41 is a high-quality walking shoe, with its durability and lightweight feel. In fact, it’s our top choice for the best Nike walking shoes we’ve tested. We like the shoe’s Zoom Air units—a special cushioning system filled with pressurized air—in the forefoot and heel, which help to absorb impact and reduce stress on the joints. Those are two premium goals for walkers to lower the odds you’ll end up with sore, achy feet after a long walk. But the shoe is also well cushioned for running, just in case you want to pick up the pace.

If you have wide feet, consider the Motiva. This shoe has a roomy forefoot, arch, and toe box to accommodate wider toes, along with a curved midsole on the outsole for a rocker design to help propel your feet forward with each step. During testing, we found that rocker creates a smooth feel, while offering extra support.

Walkers with narrow feet will appreciate the Interact Run—our testing found it creates a snug and supportive sensation to keep your foot from sliding around without feeling tight. The shoe also has responsive foam in the midsole to adapt to your foot’s shape and get more comfortable with time.

High arches come with the risk of strain at the heel and arch of your foot, but the Air Max 90 uses Nike’s famous Air Max technology—which features pressurized air—at the heel to provide extra cushioning and distribute pressure evenly across your foot, keeping you comfortable during long sessions on your feet. Plus, it just looks cool. Our testing found that this sneaker runs slightly small, so you’ll want to consider going up a half size.

The Reina EasyOn Shoe is perfect for when you want to slip into your sneakers and go. This sneak has a sockliner that adjusts to create a snug fit, so you won’t feel like your shoes will slide off with each step. The Reina EasyOn has a supportive midsole to cushion your ankles, feet, and knees with each stride.

Dunk Lows are huge in streetwear thanks to its ability to go with nearly everything. These shoes include your choice of the same unique shades across the swoosh, detailing, and outsole, and they’re also lightweight with plenty of cushioning to provide comfortable support all day.

Nike Air Max shoes stand in a class all their own, but we’re partial to the Air Max Excee sneakers for everyday use. These sneaks feature Air Max technology, which uses pressurized air for added cushioning, at the heel for extra spring in your step, along with a padded, low collar to help bypass the dreaded break-in period. Color blocking on these shoes really helps showcase the see-through Air Max cushioning, too.

When Is Black Friday?

Black Friday is happening on Friday, November 29, 2024, aka the day after Thanksgiving. But many retailers are offering Black Friday sales well before that, making it a great time to get a head start on discounted prices. Like a lot of brands, Nike has limited stock and popular shoes are likely to sell out in certain sizes and colors. Basically, if you see a pair you like at a price you’re into, grab it while you can.
