If you’ve been feeling the difficulties of inflation, Target might just be the store to supply your holiday needs. The retailer stores are offering a 4-person Thanksgiving meal bundle priced at $20, which is a $5 decrease from the meal offered in 2023, and will include all the necessary items for a delicious Thanksgiving meal.
The package will include everything you need, from name brand items to Target’s own Good & Gather products. Included in the deal is: a premium basted young frozen turkey (up to 10 pounds), russet potatoes, Del Monte cut green beans, Ocean Spray jellied cranberry sauce, Stove Top turkey stuffing mix, Heinz home-style roaster turkey gravy and Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup.
Rick Gomez, Target’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, explains what the most common request from consumers is and how Target wants to make that a possibility for them.
“One of the themes we consistently hear is the need for affordability,” Gomez said to CNN, “so we have made a commitment to prioritize that and to make sure we are delivering affordable options.”
Target and others offer affordable options for the holidays
The retailer has significantly cut costs of the holiday products. The price of turkey, which is the highest priced item included in the basket, was reduced by 20 percent to 79 cents per pound. Delicious side dishes and desserts will be available for purchase for under $5, and other entertaining needs like flowers and charcuterie boards will be available at lower prices. Also, Target Circle 36o, the store’s paid program, is offering members a frozen pizza to redeem for free when using same-day delivery between November 13-16.
Target will be discounting up to 8,000 products just in time for the season as prices continue to rise. The retailer has been cutting prices over the past year, eager to keep customers coming in the doors and happy about doing so.
Dr. Michael Swanson, chief agricultural economist at Wells Fargo’s Agri-Food Institute, explained why retailers might be offering some good deals during the holiday season and beyond.
“With inflation cooling in certain pockets, retailers are offering more deals to get consumers in the door with the hope shoppers will throw an extra item or two in the basket,” Swanson shared.
Target is joining other retailers in a holiday price drop, as Aldi, Walmart and Sam’s Club have been rolling out new deals. Sam’s Club is offering the Member’s Mark Thanksgiving deal to customers, which will cost under $100 and feed up to 10 people. The meal features all Member’s Mark products and can be delivered already cooked and ready to feast!
Target says they ‘shine the brightest’ during the holiday season
With reduced prices and tasty meal deals, Target wants to make sure you have everything you need for a special holiday—and for a good deal. “When it comes to our goal of celebrating food and beverage, big events like Thanksgiving — and smaller moments throughout the holiday season — are where Target shines the brightest,” Gomez explained of the retailers mission for the holidays. “From lowering the price of our Thanksgiving dinner menu to just $20, to a range of hosting and gifting options and special Target Circle 360 offerings, we’re serving up the kind of exceptional quality and value that sets Target apart.”
