Sweetgreen Unveils New Green Goddess Ranch Bowls and Plates


With 2025 food predictions confirming that ranch is here to stay, the salad chain Sweetgreen is bringing their signature green goddess ranch to the forefront in a big way. The scoop on Sweetgreen’s ‘All About Ranch’ menu

To kick off 2025, Sweetgreen announced the launch of this menu—which spotlights their green goddess ranch that Chad Brauze, head of culinary at Sweetgreen, notes is freshly prepared daily. “At Sweetgreen, our green goddess ranch is made with a flavorful combination of dill, basil, cilantro and spinach, plus a hint of fresh garlic and onion that gives the bold flavor that we’re known for,” he says.

Another key ingredient in their ranch is avocado oil, which Brauze describes as his favorite variety for dressings as it “adds just enough flavor to keep things interesting, but not so much that it overpowers aromatics like herbs and vinegars.” (Read on to learn why avocado oil is also one of the healthiest cooking oils.)

Sweetgreen’s “all about ranch” menu uses the condiment to dress up the following high-protein bowls and plates, which can be ordered in stores or online exclusively during January.

  • BBQ chicken and ranch plate: BBQ Sauce and green goddess ranch with blackened chicken, white rice, warm roasted sweet potatoes, avocado, and pickled onions (39 grams of protein)
  • Honey BBQ Steak and ranch plate: caramelized garlic steak, BBQ sauce, Green Goddess Ranch, white rice, warm roasted sweet potatoes, shredded cabbage and spicy broccoli (35 grams of protein)
  • Blackened chicken and ranch bowl: Green goddess ranch over blackened chicken, romaine, quinoa, chickpeas, tomatoes, avocado, cucumbers, goat cheese and basil (31 grams of protein)
  • Spicy green goddess bowl: Green goddess ranch and Sweetgreen’s hot sauce, blackened chicken, spring mix, quinoa, warm roasted sweet potatoes, tomatoes, shredded cabbage, cucumbers and cilantro (21 grams of protein)

The salad chain’s goal in releasing these items is to help customers start the new year on a healthy and flavorful note. “We want our guests to have it all—great taste, fresh ingredients and options they feel good about—and it’s an exciting step forward in offering seed oil-free choices,” Nicolas Jammet, co-founder and chief concept officer at Sweetgreen, says in a press release. “With fan-favorite green goddess ranch at the center of this launch, we’re making it easier to start the year with flavors you love.”

How to recreate Sweetgreen’s green goddess ranch at home

While Sweetgreen currently has 240 locations nationwide, there’s no need to worry if you can’t get to your nearest location to try the green goddess ranch menu items. This Sweetgreen-inspired green goddess ranch dressing recipe comes from previous editor Lily Herman and was adapted from a now-deleted video on the restaurant’s TikTok. Green Goddess Ranch Dressing

Homemade Sweetgreen green goddess dressing

Ingredients:

  • ¼ chopped red onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Small handful of mixed fresh herbs, such as basil, cilantro, parsley and dill
  • 2 Tbs. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbs. white wine vinegar
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 Tbs. Sriracha or your favorite hot sauce
  • 1 Tbs. regular or avocado oil mayonnaise
  • ½ tsp. salt, or taste
  • ½ tsp. pepper, or taste

Directions:

  1. In high-powered blender or food processor, combine all ingredients until thick green dressing forms. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
  2. Serve with your desired dishes.
  3. Note: Homemade salad dressing can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about one week.
