Though fans of the sandwich shop mourn losing the iconic $5 footlong promotion, there’s still plenty to be excited about when it comes to Subway. The restaurant franchise just announced its newest initiative: Meal of the Day. Each day, Monday through Sunday, one of the brand’s “most beloved subs,” will be available at a lower price. Subway launches a new Meal of the Day
Subway is ringing in the new year with a special menu announcement: a “Meal of the Day” deal.
With this new meal deal, customers can enjoy their favorite classic Subway sub with a choice of sides (two cookies or a bag of chips) and a small fountain soda.
Below is the weekly featured Meal of the Day menu:
- Monday: Cold Cut Combo
- Tuesday: All-Pro Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki
- Wednesday: Meatball Marinara
- Thursday: All-New Baja Chipotle Chicken
- Friday: Tuna
- Saturday: The Ultimate B.M.T.
- Sunday: The Philly
Customers can order their sub as a six-inch for $6.99 or a footlong for $9.99.
“Subway’s new Meal of the Day showcases the variety of better-for-you ingredients across our entire menu, our signature subs, and our definition of value–where you shouldn’t have to sacrifice quality for an affordable price,” said Doug Fry, President of Subway North America, in a statement.
How long will the Meal of the Day deal run? According to Subway, the limited-time offer has no specified timeline, so secure your sub before it’s too late!
Subway announces all-new Baja Bliss Collection menu
In addition to celebrating classic subs with their new Meal of the Day deal, Subway is introducing two new subs to their menu in 2025.
Both of these new sandwich selections—part of the Baja Bliss Collection—feature the brand’s “bold and zesty,” Baja Chipotle sauce, reportedly one of the “most ordered sauces on [Subway’s] menu.”
The Southwestern-inspired spread is available on a Chicken or Freshly Sliced Turkey sub served on Artisan Italian Bread with fresh veggies and topped with Subway’s SubKrunch.
In even further service to the sandwich shop’s fans, Subway is exclusively bringing back its Miss Vickie’s Baja Chipotle potato chips for a limited time, “inspired by the sauce’s bold flavors.”
Other Subway specials from 2024
Slinging classic subs on specials and incorporating popular sauces into menu items might be novel to new Subway fans, but long-time customers know the restaurant is always testing out fresh ideas—especially in 2024.
Last year saw the creation of the SubKrunch, “a first-of-its-kind crunchy topping, created for those craving a flavor boost and finishing touch for any sandwich, wrap or salad.”
Subway also released a line of specialty sauces—including Baja Chipotle—available for purchase in grocery stores nationwide last March, National Sauce Month.
“Subway’s signature sauces have become industry icons and household names, helping to introduce beloved flavors like teriyaki and chipotle to millions of Americans,” said Carl Stealey, president of T. Marzetti Company’s retail business.
Certainly not least but last on the list of 2024 Subway innovations was the return of non-sub footlong items such as their 12-inch chocolate chip cookie, first available in January last year.
