Opening my stocking on Christmas morning was my favorite part of the day. Santa always wrapped each tiny gift individually, and I loved pulling them out one at a time and unwrapping.
Did you know: The legend of St. Nicholas dates back to a 4th century bishop known for his generosity. One popular tale tells of a poor widower with three daughters who had no money for their dowries. St. Nicholas secretly tossed bags of gold coins down their chimney, which landed in stockings that were hung by the fire to dry. Over time this custom spread through Europe, sometimes using shoes in place of stockings.
