Hoka December Sale: Save 20% On Editor-Tested Walking Shoes
In case you’re not familiar with them, Hoka shoes were originally designed to create less impact on your joints without weighing you down. The sneakers use a mix of EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) and PEBA (polyether block amide) foam for next-level cushioning, along with curved soles to propel you forward with each stride. “Lots of cushioning is great for absorbing shock as the foot hits the ground and makes shoes feel better for standing,” says podiatrist Richard H. Graves, DPM, at Sol Foot & Ankle Centers in Longwood, California. As a result, Graves says Hoka’s thick padding can lower the risk of injury or foot aches after a long run.
Hoka also has a big sustainability slant, and many of the company’s shoes are made with vegan materials. More than 99 percent of Hoka shoes also contain at least one recycled, renewed, or naturally sourced material, which is something you can feel good about investing in. Hoka’s shoes come in regular and wide sizes, along with half sizes, giving you plenty of ways to find the perfect fit.
Hoka has already started rolling out discounted prices on its most popular shoes, including the bestselling Bondi 8 and fan-favorite Clifton LS. Some on-sale sizes and colorways are already sold out—these are Hokas on discount, after all—so you’ll want to snap up those shoes you’ve been eyeing ASAP. These are our favorite Hoka December sales.
At baseline, Hokas are an incredibly cushioned shoe. But the Bondi 8 kicks things up a notch with full-length EVA midsole that’s seriously thick. Our testers found that these sneakers offer a lot of support, and work well as a walking shoe, too. In fact, one editor called these “the comfiest shoes I own.” Choose from a wide selection of 24 colors.
Best Hoka Stability Shoe Sale
Hoka Arahi 7
Stability can be a tricky thing with a cushioned shoe. “The softer a shoe is, the less stable it is also,” Graves says. But the Arahi 6s manages to balance Hoka’s signature cushioning with something called J-Frame technology. That feature delivers extra support in the form of firm, J-shaped foam on the inside of the foot, where it tends to roll inward. As a result, it lowers the odds you’ll roll an ankle as you cruise along. Couple that with a secure fit in the upper, and you’ll feel supported all over. In fact, WH Fitness Editors swear by this sneak for long distance walking and running. “It’s great at absorbing impact and returning energy,” editors said in their review of the best running shoes for overpronation.

Best Daily Hoka Running Shoe Deal
Hoka Rincon 4
If you want to feel as light as possible on runs, consider the Rincon 4. This shoe is under 7 ounces (one of the lightest Hoka sneakers we’ve tried) and feel breezy enough for sprint workouts and race days. It doesn’t have an overly bouncy feel, which makes the Rincon 4 an excellent option for daily runs. Hoka designed this shoe with balanced, symmetrical cushioning, so you’ll get support all over. “The sole is designed in a rocker shape for faster acceleration,” Fitness editors said of the Rincon line in WH‘s 2020 Sneaker Award. “The single-layer mesh upper shaves some of the weight off of this shoe making it blissfully lighter.”

Based on our team’s extensive testing, they dubbed Hoka’s Clifton line one of the most comfortable sneakers to wear, period.
These sneakers come in neutral colors, with subtle street style touches you won’t see in the brand’s running shoes, like textured suede and pebbled leather. As a result, our style editors say they look great with just about any casual or activewear fit.
