This year, the chocolate brand brings extra holiday cheer in its partnership with Amazon MGM Studios’ new holiday-comedy Red One. Details on the M&M’s and ‘Red One’ partnership
On November 13, M&M’s announced its partnership with Amazon MGM Studios’ holiday comedy ‘Red One,’ starring Dwayne Johnson. According to the press release, “M&M’s Red is asking movie-goers and M&M’s fans alike to help in his mission to land him and M&M’s a role in the film with special, limited time offers. After all, there is no Red One without Red.”
In celebration of the film’s premiere today, November 15, M&M’s released a limited-edition movie jacket, popcorn buckets and holiday candy bundles. They’re also running a sweepstakes that fans can enter until January 2.
“As the most talked about candy brand in entertainment, partnering with a soon-to-be holiday classic was a natural fit for the brand,” Rankin Carroll, chief brand officer of Mars Wrigley, said in the press release. “And considering some say our spokescandies are more recognizable than Santa, we enlisted the help of our spokescandies crew, led by our beloved Red, to spread joy, M&M’s and colorfully fun experiences throughout the holiday season.”
Limited edition M&M’s products for the holidays
Snacks are a huge part of any movie-goer’s experience, and M&M’s made sure they were front and center with its limited edition products for Red One.
For the U.S. premiere, M&M’s created a one-of-a-kind snack jacket. According to the press release, it’s “equipped with maximum FUN-ctionality. The limited-edition jacket includes outer pockets to hold your M&M’S, a special sleeve to dispense napkins on the go, a strap to snugly hold your popcorn bucket in place, the perfect pocket to store your movie pass and a built-in light to help find your seat.”
Only 14 jackets are being sold on M&M’s website with two different drops, one at 7 A.M PST and one at 7 P.M. PST. They sell for $11.75, the average cost of a popcorn bucket and a box of M&M’s, and come with a complimentary annual movie pass.
If you can’t snag a special jacket, M&M’s also created a special popcorn bucket for Red One. The limited-edition snow-globe-shaped buckets will be available at AMC theaters nationwide until supplies run out.
M&M’s special ‘Red One’ holiday bundle
If you’re a fan of the chocolate candies but aren’t headed to the movies, you’re in luck. The brand is also offering a special holiday bundle available for purchase on its website or Amazon.
