Jennifer Aniston’s Pvolve Workout: Fitness Tips for Staying Strong

Jennifer Aniston has long been admired for her effortless charm, comedic talent and ageless beauty. But for the actress who gave us Rachel Green from Friends, staying in top shape isn’t just about appearances—it’s about feeling her best inside and out.

At 55, Aniston is stronger than ever thanks to a fitness philosophy that focuses on functional movement and self-compassion. Now, she’s sharing her secrets with the world through a new partnership with Pvolve. Aniston’s “Strength Redefined” workout challenge, running from January 6 to February  17, is designed to help participants build strength while honoring their bodies. We’re breaking down everything you need to know about the challenge and her holistic approach to health heading into the new year.

Aniston’s partnership with Pvolve introduces fans to a fitness method that combines low-impact exercises, functional movement and resistance equipment.

The “Strength Redefined” challenge offers Pvolve members access to 24 new workouts inspired by Aniston’s personal fitness routine. Designed with inclusivity in mind, the program caters to various fitness levels while emphasizing the importance of muscle mass as we age.

“There’s been more awareness lately around the importance of muscle mass versus just cardio,” Aniston told TODAY.com. She added that people are beginning to view exercise in “terms of the importance of muscle mass, especially as we get older to prevent osteoporosis, to support our bones.”

For Aniston, the low-impact focus of Pvolve is a perfect match. After battling injuries earlier this year, the actress learned to adapt her workouts to avoid unnecessary strain on her body. From struggling to hold 10-pound weights, Aniston spent the last year working towards gradually building her strength.

Through the “Strength Redefined” challenge, Aniston wants others to rethink what strength means. Her fitness journey proves that health should always involve happiness, no matter what age.

Fitness has always been a priority for Aniston, but her approach has evolved over the years. When life gets busy, she aims for three to four workouts per week, with her ideal schedule being four to five sessions.

With the help of her trainer, Dani Coleman—also Pvolve’s director of training—Aniston keeps her workouts exciting. Aniston shared that Coleman surprises her with a new workout every day to keep things interesting. Even if she walks in with limited energy, she still finds a way to move her body.

But the star is quick to admit she doesn’t always feel motivated. “I dread it once in a while,” she laughed.

Aniston has embraced the philosophy that less is more, steering clear of overly intense regimens. “You don’t have to break your body to get strong,” she said. Even a 30-minute session can make a big impact. And on off days? Aniston opts for mobility-focused exercises, stretching and gentle movement to stay active. Especially when pain does flare up, Aniston learned it’s always ok to adjust your workout.

“It’s wonderful because you don’t ever have to sit on the bench and wait and be like, ‘God, I hope this injury heals up so I can get back to working out.’ You are able to continue,” she says.

How Jennifer Aniston balances nutrition and fitness

Aniston’s wellness philosophy extends beyond the gym to her diet. While she calls her nutritional plan “boring,” it’s anything but ineffective.

So, what diet does she follow? Spoiler alert: it’s not restricting. Aniston likes to follow the 80/20 rule: 80 percent of the time, she sticks to nutrient-rich meals like salads, veggies and protein, leaving room to indulge in her favorite treats the other 20 percent. “I give myself days where I can have whatever I want. I don’t deprive myself,” she assured.

Aniston is all about moderation when it comes to her food cravings. When asked about her guilty pleasures, the actress listed some of her favorites: “It would be a cheeseburger and fries or Mexican food, pasta, pizza—all the savory stuff,” adding that she’s not much of a sweets person.

Her everyday eating habits include smart swaps, like skipping extra salt and using seasonings or vinegar to enhance flavor. “Stuff like that will create a taste that is so delicious, where you’re not just dousing everything with salt and butter or olive oil to make it taste good,” she says. She also has some go-to healthier snack options in her pantry, including popcorn, protein bars and shakes.

Aniston’s also big on hydration, which she believes is key to her overall health, alongside sleep—something she continues to prioritize. “My bigger challenge is sleep. I think that’s all part of our nutritional hygiene—the amount of water we get as well as the amount of sleep we get. It’s the combination of all of those things that make your workouts the most effective,” she added.
