As the holiday season approaches, one Christmas movie stands out year after year: Home Alone. Fans were thrilled this weekend when a ‘Home Alone’ reunion brought members of the McCallister cast together for the first time in 30 years!
Who attended the ‘Home Alone’ reunion?
Members of the McCallister crew reunited at Pandora’s Box Toys & Collectibles in Lafayette, NJ, to give fans a much-needed dose of nostalgia this holiday season. Those in attendance included Devin Ratray, who played bullying brother Buzz; Kristin Minter, who played Kevin’s cousin Heather; Michael C. Maronna, who played his brother Jeff; Angela Goethals, who played his sister Linnie and Jed Cohen, who played his cousin Rod. Though the film’s star Macaulay Culkin was not in attendance, the fan event was still a major success that drew in countless visitors.
“Guys, I’m eating junk and watching rubbish! You better come out and stop me!!! Today’s event was so much fun!,” the toy shop wrote in a post shared on its Instagram page. “Thank you to Devin Ratray @devinratray , Kristin Minter @kristin_minter , Michael C Maronna, Angela Goethals @g0ethals , Jed Cohen and everyone who came out to meet them and celebrate their Home Alone Fandom with all of us today here at @pandorasboxtoysandcollectibles. This was the first time they had all been together in over 30 years!”
What ‘Home Alone’ cast members say about the film 30 years later
Since the release of Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), the cast has looked back fondly on their involvement in the movies. “This film has become legacy and has affected families now for more than one generation,” Devin Ratray told PEOPLE in 2021. Kristin Minter also discussed her work on the film back in 2019 with Trainwreck’d Society. “It was my second real acting job so I didn’t really know what to expect at the time. Most people don’t think I know how to count,” she joked, clarifying that her character mistakenly counted the wrong kid. “The set was great, the kids were great. We watched movies in my room. Mac and Kieran [Culkin] were sweet normal kids working on a movie.”
Catherine O’Hara has also had nothing but positive things to share about the film all these years later, telling E! News back in 2021, “I loved the script and it was a lovely, fun experience.” She continued, “To think that I’m in one of those movies that has become a tradition for other people and their families? That’s great.”
Home Alone continues to resonate as a holiday classic 30 years later because its blend of humor, heartwarming family moments and timeless holiday nostalgia captures the magic of the season for every generation. So throw on this 90s Christmas classic and get into the spirit. And as the film proclaims, “Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!”
