First day of adf. If my bs drops I will break the fast of course.

Do you have a cutoff value in mind?

I’m not sure what a cutoff value is. Like what number to break the fast with or something else?

Yes, how low will you let your sugar get before you break the fast?
Its good to decide that up front.
O just the normal 4, which I rarely see. Thank goodness.
And no calories on the fast day. I’m not sure how I will eat on the eating day. If I can I will do omad but it depends on how it’s making me feel. Because I am on 2 injections of a premixed insulin so I may have to eat tmad.

I don’t know what the normal fasting number is in Canada, but my lab report has the low cutoff for normal at 65 mg/dl (3.6 mmol/L). The only time I get numbers in the low 70s is occasionally in the afternoon and the only thing I feel is more hunger than usual. I would love to see 72 (4) more often but I’m not on insulin/medication like you are.
Good luck!
I’m not sure but as far as I know it’s 4. I haven’t been actually told this but I get asked sometimes if I get any numbers below 4. So I assume this is the “lows” number. That they don’t want us to get lower than.
But I could be totally wrong.
I seem OK at 4 and above tho. Not that I often even reach a 4. But I can feel it if I go below a 4. My head feels really weird prompting me to test.
The fundamental chemistry is that excess glucose converts to fat easily but fat does not convert back to glucose except in small amounts this is why raising the BHB is good
Good luck worth trying this.
Think it’s likely for the liver to dump glucose in the blood when not eating. Usually meds or insulin are better ways to lower blood sugar if that’s your goal or is it weight loss, since you’re posting in weight loss forum. But even if weight loss is intention, it’s better to eat daily so metabolism doesn’t slow down. Just things I’ve heard. It would be best for you to consult with your doctor or someone on medical team.
Eating day today.
7.1 fasting when I got up before coffee or anything.
Feeling good. For a change. Not badly hungry. Not much at all. No bs issues yesterday.
