Everyone knows Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, but what about the other quarterback competing in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 9? Well, his name is Jalen Hurts and it turns out he’s in a super sweet relationship as well! Below, we dive deep into Hurts’s romance with fiancé Bry Burrows, including how they met and what they are currently up to. Read on for more.
Who is Jalen Hurts?
Hurts is the Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback. He’s 26 years old and is one of the NFL’s youngest starting players.
“It takes everyone being all in, in all aspects. And it starts with me,” Hurts said in 2023. “We’ve lost games because I can be better. That will change everything, and I accept that.”
“It’s a challenge I’m embracing. As challenging as these times are, I still see light at the end of the tunnel. Just a matter of believing.”
Before joining the Eagles in 2020, Hurts played football at The University of Alabama. While there, he studied public relations and information science and led his team to two consecutive College Football Playoff National Championship games in 2016 and 2017, capturing the attention of NFL teams everywhere.
Following that, he attended the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Human Relations in May 2023.
“It was a goal that I set for myself, and I think more importantly, it’s something that I started, and it’s something I had to finish,” he said at the time. “It’s important to me, and it’s something that made my parents proud. I know my mom has her master’s already; my girl has her master’s. So, I’m chasing them (smiling). My best friend has his master’s. So, just chasing them.”
“I’m glad I got it out of the way. It’s something off the checklist, and I was able to knock out the classes online after everything settled from the season.”
Currently, Hurts has no plans to use his master’s degree, but he does have to tap into his football skills if he wants to beat Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
This will be Hurts’s second Super Bowl appearance and could potentially be his first win, depending on how Sunday’s game goes.
Who is Bry Burrows?
Bry Burrows is a technology industry employee who also studied at the University of Alabama. While there, she joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and political science and got her MBA immediately after that.
Aside from tech, she is also very passionate about women in business and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts.
“I’m fortunate my company allows us the space to converse, listen and learn from one another,” Burrows said in 2021. “[DEI] is deeper than gender, skin color or nationality. It’s about lived experiences that define who we are and better our community and workplace.”
Currently, Burrows is believed to still be working in the tech industry and can often be found on the sidelines, cheering on her fiancé.
A look at Jalen Hurts and Bry Burrows’s relationship
Hurts and Burrows met at the University of Alabama and were dating on and off for quite a while before making their official debut at the January 2023 NFC Championship game and afterparty.
Following that, the two then got engaged in September 2024 and are currently believed to be planning their wedding.
“I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling. I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now,” Hurts said in 2023. “She’s the staple in my spirituality. She’s always the one who’s, like, ‘Ask God for what you want. Ask God for what you need. He knows, but it’s okay to say it in prayer.’ ”
As of publication, it is unclear if Burrows will be at the Super Bowl cheering on her beau, but if not, it’s clear that she will be with Hurts in his heart.
