A new year means all new TV, and as we get deeper and deeper into 2025, we can’t help our anxious jitters over the return of some of our favorite shows—some of which are coming back after quite a few years! Here, take a look at the most highly anticipated series making their way to our screens again in 2025—Which are you most excited for?
Stranger Things
As filming of the fifth and last season of Stranger Things has finally wrapped, it looks like we have something concrete to look forward to. Stranger Things season 4 hit Netflix back in 2022 and took viewers on the ride of a lifetime, with the Hawkins kids going head to head with a new and powerful force, Vecna, that threatened all that they cared about. Meanwhile, the lead character of Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, was on her own journey of reacquiring her powers, while Winona Ryder’s Joyce Byers was searching far and wide in the hopes of rescuing Jim Hopper, played by David Harbour, in Russia. The season ended on a tense note, with the beloved character of Eddie, played by Joseph Quinn, meeting his demise, and Max, played by Sadie Sink, left in a coma. Though we aren’t sure what the fifth and final season will hold, we can assume that it’s going to be a heartbreaker. See it on Netflix in 2025.
The Last of Us
Another iconic series making its return at some point in 2025 is HBO’s The Last of Us, based on the video game of the same name. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey took the lead in the first season as an unexpected duo navigating their way through the end of the world as a deadly fungal infection has wiped out much of the population, turning many into deadly creatures resembling zombies. The second season of the show will welcome new and familiar faces, including Kaitlyn Dever and Catherine O’Hara. It’s been said that the second season of the show will follow the plot of the video game, and while we have no interest in spoiling how that pans out, expect for Joel and Ellie’s story to continue as they navigate new threats in this ever-evolving, post-apocalyptic world. See it in 2025 on HBO and Max.
The White Lotus
Tropical vacay, anyone? HBO’s The White Lotus is set to take us on yet another adventure of intrigue and mystery as a new group of guests get comfortable at The White Lotus Thailand. Though not much of the plot has been revealed, there is speculation that themes of spirituality will come into play. The new season will feature familiar faces such as Michelle Monaghan, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Carrie Coon and more as they see all that The White Lotus has to offer. See it on HBO and Max on February 16 at 9 p.m.
The Night Agent
If season 1 of Netflix’s The Night Agent had you glued to your television, expect season 2 to be no different. The second season debuts on January 23, and fans of season 1 can look forward to our favorite FBI phone operator making a return, promoted to be an actual Night Agent himself. While his new gig is certainly on par with his skill set as proven in season 1, a new series of threats present themself. See it on Netflix.
1923
The Yellowstone prequel 1923 is finally returning to our screens, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect as we just said our final goodbyes to the original Yellowstone crew. Watch as this early generation of Duttons continues to fight against the forces that threaten their land, with iconic stars like Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren returning to continue telling the story in season 2. Don’t miss it streaming on Paramount+ on February 23.
Wednesday
Wednesday took the world by storm when it first premiered in 2022, and since then, fans have been anxiously anticipating what Jenna Ortega’s take on the braided icon will do next. With the second season set to debut in 2025, the wait will soon be over—and a famous face will also be making her Netflix debut! Lady Gaga is slated to appear in season 2, and we truly can’t wait! See it on Netflix.
