What was your motivation?
My motivation to lose weight has always been that I wanted to feel good about the way that I looked. I’ve been the chubby girl my entire life, and I have always been insecure about it. I knew that if I could just discipline myself, I’d be able to make my dreams a reality.

How did you change your eating habits?
I’ve tried every diet known to man! They would all work temporarily, but it was never something I could stick with. I found myself stumbling across prolonged fasting and the health benefits that came with it.

I disciplined myself to start a 72 hr fast. After those 3 days, I had so much clarity and energy and the weight was falling off. I continued to do it on a rotating cycle until I reached my goal. It’s not easy. Mentally, I was constantly challenged. But this time around, it was different. I needed so badly to prove to myself that I could do hard things and truly show up for myself!

What was your workout routine?
My workout routine was mostly cardio-based while losing weight. I was terrified of lifting weights with such a high BMI! I always thought I’d end up looking like a linebacker, lol. I worked about Monday through Friday at 4 am – treadmill incline run/walk for an hour.

Starting weight/Current weight
My highest recorded weight is 265 pounds.

My starting weight this go around was about 230 pounds.

And my current weight is 172 pounds.

What is your height?
I’m 5’11”.

When did you start your transformation journey?
Honestly, my journey started as a kid. I’ve always known I was bigger than everyone else, and I’ve always wanted to do something about it.

As an adult, I’d have to say I took it more seriously in 2021, as my divorce was pending. Idk. Something just clicked for me at that point. The final straw came in March of this year when I took a picture of myself and saw how much I had let myself go! I went into overdrive at that point.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson learned is that if there is any person who is going to come along and make your life better, it’s gonna be you.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No surgery.

What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice would be to just keep going. Understand that weight loss is a constant battle, but you’re more than capable of being whoever you want to be in this lifetime. Lock in and make it happen.
