Kerry Washington (Olivia Pope)
Olivia Pope might have been caught in a steamy love triangle, but that is definitely not the case for Kerry Washington.
The actress has been married to former football star and actor Nnamdi Asomugha since 2013. They also have three children together.
The two regularly walk red carpets, but they choose to keep their relationship and parenting journey private for the most part.
However, in 2023 Washington did make a rare comment about her husband, saying, “I’m in my immediate truth with [him]. Those mirrors are important, because they help me get back to myself.”
They’ve also never posted pictures of their children on social media.
Tony Goldwyn (President Fitzgerald Grant III)
Despite President Grant’s storyline largely revolving around him cheating on his wife, the same cannot be said for actor Tony Goldwyn, who has been married to wife Jane Musky since 1987.
“Jane is just the most incredible human being I know, and she is just a very salt of the Earth person,” Goldwyn said in 2019. “I knew when I was 21 when I met her [that] I better hang on, because I’ll never come across this again.”’
The couple currently has two children, one of whom just got married in August, and according to the actor, it was quite an emotional day.
“For years, since my kids were little … I’m sort of the crier in the family, so they said, ‘Dad, you’re never going to make it. You’re never going to make it through your wedding speech, you’re going to be a mess, we’re going to be humiliated,’” Goldwyn shared. “And I got through my speech…I did; I said what I needed to say. It was beautiful. It was really an amazing experience.”
As noted above, Goldwyn and Musky talk about each other quite a bit and often post about their relationship and their daughters on social media.
Bellamy Young (Mellie Grant)
Unlike a lot of her co-stars, Bellamy Young wasn’t married while the show was airing. Instead, she chose to marry drummer Pedro Segundo, who is 19 years younger than she is, in 2020.
The couple often posts together on social media, but they keep their relationship private for the most part.
In June 2024, though, she revealed, “A cozy night out on the town with him fills up my whole heart!”
The pair currently doesn’t have any children, and it remains unclear if they ever plan to.
Scott Foley (Jake Ballard)
TV star Scott Foley has been in two high-profile marriages throughout his career. First to Jennifer Garner in 2000 after meeting her in 1998 when she guest-starred in an episode of Felicity. They remained together until 2004.
“Jennifer became a huge celebrity,” said Foley. “She became a huge star, and she deserved everything she got. There was no other relationship, there was no infidelity, nothing. People get divorced, you know? Through no one’s fault and everyone’s fault.”
Following that, Foley married Marika Domińczyk in 2007 and has been with her ever since. They currently have three children together.
“Looking around at what we made just because we went out on a date. … Looking around at our kids, the dogs, the cat, the house, for me, it is like a fairy tale,” Domińczyk said in 2019.
Foley echoed the same thoughts, stating “I know what she is thinking, good and bad, before she says anything and vice versa…It is a really warm feeling to know I got a person.”
The couple is still together and they often post about their outings on social media.
Katie Lowes (Quinn Perkins)
Actress Katie Lowes has been married to actor Adam Shapiro since 2012, and they have two children together. The couple does often post about each other on social media; however, they have remained rather tight-lipped about the intimate details of their relationship.
In 2021, Lowes wrote on Instagram, “9 years married to this stud. 15 years total. You’re the love of my freakin life, Adam Shapiro.” But past that, most of their pictures are of the couple at various premiers or events.
Darby Stanchfield (Abby Whelan)
Actress Darby Stanchfield is married—and has been since 2009—to Joseph Mark Gallegos. They, too, keep their relationship very private. Stanchfield hardly ever comments publicly on her husband in interviews or on social media. At this time, it’s believed that the two are still together and do not have kids.
Jeff Perry (Cyrus Beene)
Before he found fame, Jeff Perry married actress Laurie Metcalf, best known for her work in Lady Bird and Rosanne. The two were together from 1983 until 1986 and had one child together.
Then, in 1989, Perry married casting director Linda Lowy and has been with her ever since. They also have one child together.
Like many of his Scandal co-stars, Perry often posts about his wife on social media but rarely comments on the details of their relationship.
Joshua Malina (David Rosen)
Scandal and The West Wing star Joshua Malina has been married to his wife Melissa Merwin since 1996. They share two children.
The couple isn’t without its problems, though, because in August 2024, Merwin filed for divorce. The details as to why or how long the couple has been split still remain unclear.
