Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet star in the Sussex holiday card
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their non-profit organization The Archewell Foundation, revealed their 2024 holiday card, featuring a new photo of their son Archie, 5, and daughter Lilibet, 3. The picture captures the children from behind as they excitedly run toward their parents outdoors surrounded by the family’s three dogs.
Meghan and Harry can both be seen holding their arms open for their little ones and smiling. And, indeed, both Archie and Lilibet inherited their dad’s red hair!
“On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation, “We wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year,” the festive green and white card reads.
Other photos featured in the collage include looks at Harry and Meghan on their philanthropic endeavors during visits to Nigeria and Colombia this year.
Archewell reportedly clarified that this card is meant for professional use, but the family has sent a separate, private card to those personally close to them, which will not be shared publicly.
A rare glimpse of the Sussex children
The Duke and Duchess have been cautious about keeping their little ones out of the public eye from the start.
Prince Archie can be seen in the couple’s first holiday card in 2019. He also appeared in an illustration of a picture, taken by Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex unveiled in 2020.
In 2021, they became a family of four when Lilubet was born in June. The holiday season, Harry and Meghan debuted the first photo of Princess Lilibet on their greeting card, announcing that “Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa,’ and Lili made us a family.”
The kids were last seen when they were briefly shown in Netflix’s 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan.
Meghan Markle shares her favorite family holiday traditions
In an interview with Marie Claire, the duchess opened up about her favorite holiday traditions with Harry and their children.
“I love the holidays,” she said, adding that Archie and Lilibet are now “three and five, so every year it gets better.”
“At first, I think as a mom with children you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet,” she noted. “But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”
One of the ways the couple achieves this feat is by putting out “carrots for the reindeer” at Christmas, Meghan shared.
