Life in the West Wing of the White House can be quite dramatic, especially when President Josiah Bartlett is in office. Oh, wait, that was only on the hit TV show The West Wing in the late 1990s and early 2000s. And it turns out that when it comes to that cast, life is only dramatic for them when they are in the Oval Office. Below, we’ve rounded up who the cast ended up with when they weren’t putting out fires all over the country, and trust us when we say it’s nearly as dramatic as their time in the (fictional) office.
Martin Sheen (President Josiah Bartlett)
It turns out that everyone’s favorite fictional president, Martin Sheen, only has one first lady in his life, and her name is Janet Sheen. The two got married in 1961 and have since welcomed four children: Charlie Sheen, Emilio Esteves, Renée Estevez, and Ramón Esteves, all of whom are now working actors and actresses.
“I was fortunate enough to marry the scariest woman I’d ever met,” Martin said in 2015. “She did not know how to lie. It was impossible. For me, the truth was a sometimes thing. For her, it was [an] eternity. She would always call me out, thank God.”
The Sheens are happily married to this day and often walk various red-carpet events together.
Bradley Whitford (Joshua Lyman)
Actor Bradly Whitford has been married twice throughout his life. First, he was with actress Jane Kaczmarek, who he married in 1992. They welcomed three kids together before divorcing in 2010.
“He hopes the media will respect their wish for privacy as they focus on their children,” Whitford’s rep said at the time.
Whitford and Kaczmare continue to co-parent to this day.
The actor is now married to Amy Landecker and has been since 2019.
“Things with Amy are spectacular,” he said at that time. “I met her last year, but we didn’t start dating for a little while. I work slowly.”
Landecker echoed similar thoughts at the time, saying, “I knew Bradley for a year before we dated, and I kind of thought that he seemed like a cocky actor boy, and I wasn’t really that interested.”
“Now I’ve learned that if I don’t like someone at first, that’s probably a sign that they’re perfect for me because my taste is so bad… Now I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
The pair remains happily married five years later.
Richard Schiff (Toby Ziegler)
Actor Richard Schiff is no stranger to the silver screen, but one thing he is a stranger to is multiple marriages. Schiff has been married to his wife, Sheila Kelley, since 1996 and shares two children with her.
The two have remained pretty tight-lipped about their relationship in interviews over the years, but they do frequently post pictures highlighting their various adventures on social media.
Dulé Hill (Charlie Young)
Dulé Hill has been married twice over the length of his decade-long acting career. First to Nicole Lyn, from 2004 to 2012 and then Jazmyn Simon from 2018 until now.
Many details surrounding Hill’s first marriage remain a mystery, but in 2007, the actor did say that living in Vancouver, Canada, for the filming of his hit show Psych was hard for him and his wife.
“Early in a marriage, you’re still trying to find your footing,” Hill said. “So spending too much time away from each other isn’t good.”
It is unclear if this is what led to their divorce.
Following that, Hill married Simon in 2018 and has since welcomed two children with her.
“It’s easy to love Dulé,” Simon said. “But I will say the secret is thinking about all the good things and trying to forget the things that get on your nerves.”
“In marriage, you’re gonna get on each other’s nerves, but at the end of the night, you gotta refocus on the things that they do great, and that will keep you going.”
Hill and Simon are still together, have acted together several times, and even released a joint children’s book in 2023 titled Repeat After Me: Big Things to Say Every Day.
Janel Moloney (Donna Moss)
Little is known about Janel Moloney’s marriage to Brazilian composer and pianist Marcelo Zarvos. The pair married in 2010 and have welcomed two kids since then, but they never publicly comment on their relationship or life as parents. They walk red carpets together from time to time, letting the public know that they’re together, but that’s it.
