Fast food fans, rejoice! After nearly a decade of waiting, the iconic McDonald’s Snack Wrap is officially making a comeback. Discontinued in 2016, this fan-favorite menu item is finally returning in 2025, and we’ve got all the details.
Everything we know about the McDonald’s Snack Wrap
Fans of the fast-food establishment are in luck, as the company’s president Joe Erlinger announced on Good Morning America that come 2025, these tasty bundles of joy would be returning to the menu.
The announcement of the Snack Wrap came in the wake of a lengthy conversation regarding the E. coli outbreak linked to the McDonald’s Quarter Pounder—one that impacted about 900 locations. After diving into the details of the outbreak, the conversation shifted to what’s next for the company in 2025 as they work to make things right after the outbreak—one of their new endeavors being the McValue menu and initiative.
Beginning January 7, the McValue menu will feature a series of new and affordable deals, including the $5 Meal Deal, which includes your choice of a McDouble, McChicken, or Spicy McChicken sandwich, a small drink, a small order of fries and a four piece Chicken McNugget.
In addition to this bargain, the McValue menu will include a buy one, add one for $1 menu feature, which allows customers to purchase a full-priced menu item off the McValue menu and an additional item for just a dollar. The McValue initiative also includes local deals and in-app exclusive deals.
In addition to these plans for the new year came the announcement of the beloved Snack Wrap from Erlinger. “The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,” he revealed. “This has a cult following. I get so many emails into my inbox about this product. It will be back in 2025.” He continued by saying that he wouldn’t share exactly when the Snack Wrap would be rolling out “for competitive reasons,” but fans can expect it in 2025.
Snack Wraps, known for their perfect blend of crispy chicken, shredded lettuce, cheese and creamy sauce wrapped in a soft tortilla, were loved for their taste and convenience. Designed as the ultimate grab-and-go meal, they were a staple for busy customers—and fans are thrilled to see their return on the horizon.
What else did the McDonald’s president say?
The bulk of Erlinger’s Good Morning America conversation revolved around the E. coli outbreak linked to their restaurants and their Quarter Pounders, specifically, the onions used in about 900 restaurants throughout Colorado and the states surrounding. “We let people down,” Erlinger said. “I want to apologize to all of our customers who were harmed by this incident.” He further elaborated on the matter, saying, “We stopped using the supplier facility from which they came and we stopped sourcing onions from the farm.”
