New Kids on the Block, also known as NKOTB, began to soar after the release of their debut single “Be My Girl” in 1986. The group had been together since 1984, but it wasn’t until 1989 that they skyrocketed to stardom.
While the boy band was one of the hottest teen groups of the late 1980s and early 1990s, NKOTB split up in 1994 after being massively popular for about five years. But they did reunite in 2007 with a comeback album and tour, and have continued to tour ever since.

Donnie Wahlberg and Kimberly Fey
The New Kids on the Block member met his first wife, Kimberly Fey, in the early 1990s.. They soon began dating and welcomed their first son, Xavier, in 1993. The couple officially tied the knot in 1999 and just two years later had their second child, a son named Elijah. The couple eventually split and filed for divorce in 2008, but the two have remained on friendly terms.
Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy
Wahlberg and his current wife, Jenny McCarthy, have been a couple for over a decade. They first showed up together on an episode of Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, but didn’t begin to date until a year later when they reunited on McCarthy’s talk show.
The duo confirmed their romance a few months later, making their red carpet debut in August of 2013. Less than a year later, Wahlberg and McCarthy announced their engagement and were married in August 2014.
At their wedding, McCarthy shared a toast, saying, “As a little girl, you dream of Prince Charming and you always get disappointed because no one meets the expectations, but he has surpassed it by far.”
The couple have a blended family, co-parenting their three children from their previous marriages: Xavier and Elijah from Wahlberg’s marriage to Kimberly Fey and Evan from McCarthy’s marriage to John Asher.
Jonathan Knight and Harley Rodriguez
The New Kids on the Block singer met his now husband, Harley Rodriguez, back in 2008 while NKOTB was rehearsing for their comeback and tour, but he didn’t know much about Knight prior to that.
“I heard their music on the radio and stuff like that, but I was never a fan … I never went to a concert, nothing,” Rodriguez explained.
They got engaged in 2016, but it wasn’t until 2022 that they secretly married after delaying their wedding due to COVID-19.
“It’s great. We’ve been together 14 years,” Knight shared in 2023. “It’s nice to find love. We found each other later in life, which makes it even better. We both understand each other.”
Joey McIntyre and Barrett Williams
This boyband member met his wife, real estate agent Barrett Williams, in 2002 after she showed him a house. McIntyre was actually Williams’ first client, which makes this story all the sweeter. Not too long after, the couple wed in 2003.
In 2007, they welcomed their first child, son Griffin. They have two other children as well: a son Rhys, born in 2009, and a daughter, Katherine, born in 2011.
Jordan Knight and Evelyn Melendez
This couple has kept a very low profile since tying the knot in 2004, with neither having social media accounts and the two hardly posing for pictures together. But they have two sons together, Dante and Eric,
Knight has spoken about his decision to take time off from his career to spend time with his wife and children. In 2007, he said, “There are a lot of doors open right now, but I don’t want to do anything that will take me away from my family for very long. They’re only going to be young for so long, and I’d hate to miss this time in their lives.”
Danny Wood and Patty Alfaro
Although Danny Wood is currently unmarried, he was with his former wife, Patty Alfaro, from 1997 to 2006. The couple welcomed three children while they were together — Chance, Daniel and Vega — as well as four grandchildren since then.
