Bacon-Kissed Three-Cheese Macaroni recipe | First For Women

Comfort casseroles are one of my favorite things on earth. They’re so creamy, cozy and warming on cold weather days. That’s why I love this Bacon-Kissed Three-Cheese Macaroni recipe. Best of all, not only does it satisfy a craving, our crispy-smoky panko topping takes this twist on a crowd-pleaser to new heights.

All good mac ‘n’ cheese recipes start with Mornay sauce. It may sound fancy, but it’s simply a mixture of butter, flour, milk and cheese. We decided to give ours an easy upgrade with Parmesan for tang, cheddar for sharpness and gruyere for a dose of nutty deliciousness. We toss it together on the stove top but if you prefer to make it in a slow cooker, just coat inside of slow cooker with cooking spray. Add dry macaroni, butter, flour, milk, 3 cheeses and 1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk; stir. Cover; cook on low 3 hrs. Sprinkle with panko and cooked bacon. Give it a try then let us know what you think.
