Every gum infection starts with gingivitis which is the earliest and mildest form of gum disease and if left untreated periodontitis may develop in which it is the advance stage of gum disease or infection and it is being indicated by receding gums, at this stage the gum infection already spreads below the gums affecting the tissues and bones that supports the teeth thus it ma y result to loose tooth or eventually tooth loss.

Keeping the mouth clean all the time keeps bacteria away making the mouth. With brushing and flossing and regular visits with the dental care expert are the simple ways in getting prevented from periodontitis.

Bleeding and swollen gums are the early indications of gum disease. When left untreated gum infection that causes swollen gums cab spread throughout the body affecting certain systems such as the cardiovascular and respiratory system.

Dental visits every six months is recommended to reduce the risk of swollen gums and gum disease. Having Healthy Gums After Swollen Gums

Healthy gums are foundations of the teeth; it provides support needed for the teeth to function as they should. They appear to be pink in color and not red or darker for people with darker complexions, healthy gums are dotted that looks like the skin of an orange and not tender or swollen and do not bleed easily especially during brushing.

An individual with unhealthy gums can notice that gums appear to be red in color and tender. Bleeding and swollen gums occur. When left untreated persistent bleeding and swollen gums with pain can be experienced, during these stage gum disease and swollen gums have already advanced and pockets form, tooth loose and bad breath also takes place.

The best defense against swollen gums and gum disease is prevention and early detection and it can be achieved with regular brushing, flossing and regular dental visits. Keeping healthy gums begins with what you eat, too much sugar and sweets are detrimental to gum health.  After eating it is recommended to brush the teeth, brushing alone is not enough to remove all the food particles in the mouth. A mouthwash that is made from salt and warm water can go a long way in preventing and keeping bacteria away. Having healthy gums after a swollen gums and gum disease is never difficult unless it is prevented and detected early.
